Disability Employment Services include two separate programs, which provide assistance to:
- People with disability, injury or health condition who need the assistance of Disability Employment Services and who might need irregular or occasional support to keep a job.
- People with permanent disability and who require regular, ongoing support to keep a job.
Will I Be Eligible for these new services?
You need to be:
aged between 14 – 65 years
an Australian resident
not studying fulltime (unless you are an Eligible School Leaver)
not working above your employment benchmark hours
Do I need to be in receipt of a Benefit?
No, If you are not receiving income support payments, but:
are under 21 years,
are eligible for assistance under a Labour Market Adjustment Package,
are a Special Class Client which means that you have sustained a condition as a result of being a victim of either the Bali bombings, Tsunami in December 2004 or the London bombings
are an Eligible School Leaver, or
are a Job in Jeopardy participant
Then an income assessment is not required.
FAQ
How will these new services help me?
MAX Employment will work with you to develop an Employment Pathway Plan. Our Employment Consultants together with our in house Allied Health Officers will conduct a 3 way interview with you to develop a plan that outlines the services, training and support linkages that will assist you to find and keep a job. Once placed in a job, we will continue to support you for at least 26 weeks so that you can stay in the job. If you still need support after this, we will be able to help you for as long as you need it.

What do I have to do?
For the best outcome, you should work with us and attend and fully participate in appointments, job interviews and activities that are organised. It is important to do this as these activities are designed to give you the best opportunity to gain skills and to find and keep a job.
