What happens at MAX
You can register for free with MAX Employment:
- Through Centrelink if you receive a benefit,
- Directly through us if you do not receive a Centrelink benefit or
- If you have had a job capacity assessment.
When you register with us, we’ll invite you in to your nearest office and meet with you to identify your strengths and skills, and explore ways to build on those areas that could do with some improvement.
You will have been provided a stream number from Centrelink which helps us to identify the level of support you may need to assist in getting you back into work.
The streams range from 1 to 4, from requiring minimal assistance to requiring strong and personalized support to help you find and keep work.
No matter what your stream is, MAX staff are here to help you find a job.
- Stream 1 clients can access our free resources including computers, postage and phones to help you find employment opportunities. As job seekers progress through Stream 1, you also get the opportunity to engage in a period of Intensive Activities and have a Skills Assessment undertaken.
- Stream 2 and 3 clients will be linked with a Placement Consultant and it’s their job to help you overcome barriers or issues preventing you to find and keep work. This may include counselling, exercise therapy or confidence building workshops as an example.
- Stream 4 clients are offered maximum support opportunities. If you are a Stream 4, it has been identified that you have some strong barriers to finding employment, and MAX staff are here to address these and assist you to overcome these. Drug and alcohol addiction, homelessness or violent behaviour may be reasons for being identified as Stream 4 but we have a proven model and passionate staff to help you get through these at your pace and gain employment.
What is our proven model?
Our proven model has assisted thousands of people into work and may be the helping hand you’ve been looking for. There’s no secret to the model, it is only successful because of the hard work our staff put in to make it work. Read more.
